Honda has topped the What Car? Reliability Survey for the seventh year running.

Honda has another award to add to its bulging trophy cabinet. Honda is the most reliable used car brand for the seventh year running in the What Car? Reliability Survey. According to the report, Honda cars are the least likely to have any mechanical faults, or break down. There is just a 10% chance of a Honda breaking down in a whole year.

What Car's Editor in Chief, Chas Hallett commented "Honda has continued its enviable record with 7 years at the top of the What Car? and Warranty Direct survey, which is a great achievement. When the car is out of manufacturer's warranty it can cost the customer money and hassle, our research has shown that with a Honda, this doesn't happen."

The Managing Director of Warranty Direct, Duncan McClure Fisher added: "[Honda] has proved it can build cars to last outside of their 3 year manufacturer warranty, so if you're in the market for a used car, our research shows you should seriously consider a Honda."

The Managing Director of Honda UK, Dave Hodgetts had an inkling Honda would win, as he has confidence in the cars Honda build and the people who build them. He said "We try to make every second of owning a Honda an enjoyable experience. This isn't just in manufacturing, but also throughout the research and development and the parts procurement process, this level of detail makes sure we build high quality and reliable cars."

Dave continues: "Success in studies like this proves the skill, dedication and passion of our engineers. We are incredibly proud to be the most reliable manufacturer for a fantastic 7 years running."

The number 7 is significant to Honda in 2012. They build 7 cars, they have won this survey for the seventh time in a row, and this is the seventh award they have won this year.

Other awards include the Honda Jazz topping the JD Power Ownership Satisfaction Survey for the ninth year in a row, and the new Civic was named the best value new car on the road, according to Parkers.

2012 is proving to be a great year for Honda and they will strive to make sure it continues.
