Details of the Honda e released, including the price

You should know the Honda e by now. First unveiled as the adorably retro Urban EV at the 2017 Frankfurt motor show, it’s now been seen in its final production spec, just in time for Frankfurt 2019.

The biggest difference we can spot compared to the prototype is the disappearance of the word ‘prototype’ from its number plate. It’s otherwise unchanged; a slightly taller version of that initial concept with a set of back doors and less interesting wheels added.

Cameras-for-mirrors remain while you’ve a choice of two power outputs. An electric motor operates the rear axle, supplying either 134bhp or 152bhp, though both produce 232lb ft of torque. That’s good for 0-62mph in eight seconds, which is bordering on junior hot hatch territory.

Perhaps more important will be its 136-mile range and its ability to reach 80 per cent charge in 30 minutes.

Those new-fangled mirrors are standard-fit, as is the huge display that comprises two 12.3in displays, one for driver and one for passenger.

Prices start at £26,160 for the 134bhp version, rising to £28,660 for the more powerful 152bhp one. Both prices include the £3.5k government EV discount.
